The “Adopt A Ship” educational program concluded on Thursday its operations for the academic year 2023-2024 in a ceremony held in Limassol.

The ceremony was attended by the Shipping Deputy Minister Mrs. Marina Hadjimanoli, a representative from the Ministry of Education and elementary school teachers involved with the programme.

In this context, the Chamber handed participation certificates to the elementary school teachers. The academic year 2023-2024 saw a total of 102 adoptions of ships from the Chambers member companies from 102 different elementary school classes across Cyprus.

This year also marked the adoption of more than 1000 ships since the programmes founding in 2006.

The programme is an initiative of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber and CYMEPA and is officially supported by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works as well as the Shipping Deputy Ministry and has been successfully running annually, since 2006.

The Chamber extends its warm appreciation to its Member-Company, Columbia Shipmanagement for sponsoring the ceremony as well as to the Ministries involved for their close support to the programme.
