ATHENS – In an atmosphere charged with symbolism and purpose, the Maritime Economies newspaper celebrated the release of its special edition, "Women of Influence," on Saturday, March 21. The event, hosted at the historic Association of Athenians, brought together prominent figures from the maritime industry and the broader business world.

Under the curation of Dionysis Politis and Efi Kollias, the gathering evolved into a vibrant narrative of leadership. What began as a maritime-focused initiative has now matured into a prestigious institution—a multidimensional platform highlighting female excellence across diverse sectors.

This year's edition features 45 distinguished personalities recognized for their consistency, impactful action, and their ability to redefine industry standards by transforming influence into social responsibility.

The President of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, George Alexandratos, served as the keynote speaker. Mr. Alexandratos went beyond formal greetings, focusing on the strategic necessity of bolstering female representation within shipping. He underscored that active female participation is not just a matter of equity but a vital component for the industry’s future evolution.

The organizers emphasized the deeper mission behind the publication:

  • Efi Kollias: "This initiative is more than an honorary tribute; it is a conscious investment in the women who are shaping the future with boldness and substance."
  • Dionysis Politis: "Our goal is to create platforms where stories are converted into power. The influence of these women is tangible, evolving, and far from theoretical."

The evening concluded with a clear message of continuity. The "Women of Influence" initiative confirms that leadership is not a static achievement but a dynamic force that inspires and paves the way for the next generation of professionals.
