The evening’s highlight was a presentation by Ms. Elena Tassioula, General Manager of BIMCO for Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, and Malta. Ms. Tassioula shared insightful perspectives on BIMCO’s role in shipping, including regulatory developments, training initiatives, and international industry trends.

“It was a great honour to be invited as a speaker at the Cyprus Marine Club event in Limassol. When BIMCO established its office in Athens six and a half years ago, our aim was to be closer to the maritime communities of Greece and Cyprus — two of our largest membership bases worldwide.

As the shipping industry continues to evolve amidst regulatory change and new challenges, BIMCO remains fully committed to supporting members across the region with practical tools, expert advice, and training through our contracts and clauses.”

Ms. Tassioula’s  engaging presentation sparked a lively Q&A session, with contributions from Capt. Michael Elwert, COO  of InterMaritime Shipmanagement and  Mr. Kyriakos Kourieas,  Commercial Director InterMaritime Shipmanagement; Member of BIMCO’s documentary committee.

The session provided attendees with practical insights into BIMCO’s role in the global shipping industry and fostered an open dialogue on key maritime challenges and opportunities.
