Awarded for Commitment to Inclusive Hiring and Gender Equity in Maritime.

Mintra, a leading provider of digital learning and human capital management systems for safety-critical industries, has been named the top-performing organisation in the maritime sector in the 2025 Women in Transport Equity Index. The recognition highlights Mintra’s commitment to inclusive hiring practices, transparent performance tracking, and measurable progress on gender equity in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

The national Index, developed by Women in Transport in partnership with global equity platform WORK180 assessed over 100 organisations across rail, road, logistics, cycling, consultancy, government, and maritime. It revealed that many UK transport and logistics organisations are falling behind on inclusion, leadership progression, wellbeing and pay equity.

Against this backdrop, Mintra stood out as one of the few maritime companies implementing bold gender targets and long-term policies that drive cultural change. Its inclusive approach includes competency based structured interviews to reduce bias and clear development pathways for women in technical and leadership roles. Progress is tracked annually, with transparent diversity targets ensuring accountability across its global teams.

“We are proud to lead the way in driving gender equity within maritime,” said Kevin Short, CEO of Mintra. “Inclusive hiring is more than just a box-ticking exercise. We believe a truly innovative organisation is one where everyone feels seen, heard and valued. It’s a business imperative that makes us stronger, more resilient and better equipped for the future.”

While the maritime sector continues to face equity challenges, Mintra’s performance underscores what’s possible when leadership backs inclusion with investment, policy, and action.

“Mintra is a leading example of what inclusive progress looks like in practice. Their work demonstrates that equity and innovation can and must go hand in hand,” said Sonya Byers OBE, CEO of Women in Transport. “They are showing that real change is achievable when policies, leadership and accountability align.”
