Once again, Piraeus Port Authority made a notable impact at the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2024 in Shanghai, from November 5 to 10, reinforcing its strategic importance as a bridge of cooperation between West and East.

PPA’s top management actively participated in CIIE, led by the PPA Chairman Mr. Lin Ji, and the Deputy CEOs Capt. Jin Beiyuan, Mr. Qu Shengbin and Mr. Panagiotis Tsonis. PPA representatives also engaged with global business leaders and officials, highlighting the port’s strategic position in world trade and advancing international collaborations. Also, the Greek Consulate General in Shanghai, Mr. Georgios Partheniou visited the PPA’s booth. During the China–Europe Entrepreneurs Conference, PPA showcased its contributions to driving innovation and bolstering economic ties between China and Europe. Visitors engaged in digital applications and explored PPA’s cutting-edge services that support the maritime industry, tourism and the global supply chain.

At the expo, PPA presented the Port of Piraeus as a benchmark for sustainable growth and international cooperation. A highlight of PPA’s participation was the unveiling of the “Greece-China Culture Corner”, where the company showcased a Chinese translation of the Greek classic A Child Counts the Stars by Menelaos Lountemis – a PPA initiative – alongside the original Greek version, underscoring the company’s commitment to strengthening cultural ties between the two nations.

The Port of Piraeus serves as a major hub in the transportation industry, promoting sustainable development, innovation and cultural exchange, while delivering numerous benefits to Greece and the broader Mediterranean region.
