Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, announced that its Singapore Sub-Headquarters, MOL has donated 50 native species trees under the Plant-A-Tree program, supporting the National Parks Board’s OneMillionTrees movement, in celebration of Sigapore’s 60th National Day.
This initiative is part of the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and continues the legacy of the Garden City vision introduced by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew in 1967. Held yesterday at Thomson Nature Park, the event brought together senior leadership from MOL’s Singapore-based entities, alongside key industry partners including the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, Singapore Shipping Association (SSA), Singapore Maritime Foundation , and the Singapore Maritime Officers’ Union
“The OneMillionTrees movement aligns with MOL’s sustainability ethos and our belief in the power of collaboration, of actively reaching out, finding common grounds for collaboration. We are happy to play a part in contributing to a greener environment and are honored to have our partners join us in this meaningful initiative”, said Ms. Sakura Kuma, Managing Director of MOL Asia Oceania.
MOL pursues “BLUE ACTION MOL”, striving to balance corporate growth with a sustainable society, and has incorporated “for ALL”, its intention to pursue social contribution activities, into these words, setting the MOL Group’s social contribution activities as “BLUE ACTION for ALL”. Activities like welcoming the LMS students represent MOL’s initiatives on “next-generation human capital development”.
All 50 trees planted are native species cultivated through conservation efforts, contributing to Singapore’s vision of becoming a City in Nature. The initiative also reinforces MOL’s long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and its close partnership with Singapore’s maritime ecosystem.
As a corporate group, MOL remains committed to developing a variety of social infrastructure businesses in addition to traditional shipping businesses and will meet the evolving social needs including environmental conservation and social contribution activities.
