Greece’s Dynacom Tankers has been tied to a series of suezmax newbuilds at Samsung Heavy Industries.

Clarksons reports George Procopiou’s company has signed up for four 158,000 dwt ships at $83m each, with deliveries scheduled throughout 2027.

The Athens-based outfit, with nearly 70 tankers under management, has a massive orderbook in China, including suezmaxes at New Times Shipbuilding where it has booked a series of 10 newbuilds in late 2023 and early this year.

The company has recently been linked to a triple sale of its ice-class LR1s. Shipbrokers report the 2006 Onomichi Dockyard-built 70,370 dwt sister ships Ice Energy, Ice Victory and Ice Fighter have been offloaded to undisclosed Middle Eastern interests for $24m each.
