Please tell us the history of MIDDLE EAST FUJI GROUP from its founding until today.


MEF's Vision is to 'Be the best service provider in the region', as measured by Customer Satisfaction; Quality of Service; Financial Profitability, Growth and high standards of Health and Safety.

1993 - Middle East Ship Stores was established as a sole establishment offering shipping supply services at UAE ports.

1997
- Middle East Ship Stores moved its headquarters to a purpose-built office and warehouse in Al Quoz Industrial Area.

1998
- CONJUNCTION AGREEMENT - Middle East Ship Storesand Fuji Trading signed an Agreement of Collaboration for two years, after which time a decision would be made about continuing with a partnership. The years between 1998 and 2000 would prove to be busy and saw the company soar in greater business volume as well as opening new branches and subsidiaries.

1999 - MEF opened its office in Fujairah. Seen here with Saeed Al Malik are Mr. Henry Ng, Mr. Mitsui, Mr. Miyatake, and Mr. Al Malik's uncle, Mr. Amiri.

2000 - OFFICIAL JOINT VENTURE - The joint venture between Middle East Ship Stores and Fuji Trading was made official. The name of the company was officially changed to Middle East Fuji LLC. Even though the companies had been working together for two years already, the joint venture gave the new entity the ability to leverage its assets for even greater growth.

2002 - Japan's Defense General, Nakatani, visited the first feet of the JMSDF in the UAE. MEF began supplying the JMSDF ships calling at UAE ports as part of the Afghan Mission in 2001.

2005 - MEF established Nakilat Fuji LLC in Qatar as a joint venture with Qatar Gas Transport Company providing marine services and supplies.

2008 - JOINT VENTURE WITH KHIMJI RAMDAS GROUP - Middle East Fuji Khimji Co. LLC was registered and established in Muscat, Oman. MEFK is a joint venture company between Khimji Ramdas Group in Oman and Middle East Fuji LLC in the UAE, offering services to the marine, offshore, and hospitality industries in the Sultanate of Oman.

2010
- ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT FORMED The independent engineering department, originally formed in 1999, was registered with a partner as a separate company in Dubai, UAE called Fuji Walco Middle East LLC. In the same year, Middle East Fuji Khimji Shipping LLC was established in Fujairah, offering a marine agency and husbandry.

2015 - NEW WAREHOUSE - Middle East Fuji LLC bought 4,180.64 sqm for a warehouse building in Al Quoz Industrial Area 3, behind Audi Showroom near Times Square.

2016 - MEF won the first Seatrade Maritime Ship Supplier of the Year Award.MEF hosted its third MEFE Technical Seminar. The AS400 ERP system was implemented.

2017 - SHIPTEK AWARD - Mr. Al Malik was awarded the Personality of the Year Award during Shiptek 2018.

2018 - OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD - Mr. Al Malik was honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award 2018 at the Seatrade Maritime Awards event, sponsored by Drydocks World Dubai. He was given this prestigious award for his overall achievements and contribution to the industry over the years.

2019 - MEF moved into the new office and warehouse in Al Quoz

2020 - MEF has chosen SAP S/4 HANA as its new ERP system to leverage the latest technologies and intelligent automation with real time analytics to better manage the business processes with new Infrastructure and has reached a new milestone.

2021 - Middle East Fuji opened its new warehouse on April 1, 2021. MEF reconstructed its old technical warehouse, which was built into a two-story technical warehouse.

2022 - KOBEYa Marina Grand Opening - Gluten-free Japanese restaurant KOBEYa opens a second location in Dubai Japanese restaurant KOBEYa, which caters to customers in the UAE that are gluten free, has expanded its operations by opening a second location at Marina Gate in Dubai Marina.
