DNV enhances its European railway assurance offering with ENAC accreditation, further solidifying its dedication to ensuring safety, reliability and adherence to regulations within the industry.Leading global assurance and risk management provider DNV has obtained ENAC accreditation for its rail conformity assessment body, allowing it to deliver Notified Body (NoBo), Designated Body (DeBo) Spain, Risk Assessment Body (AsBo) and Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) services. ENAC, the Spanish National Accreditation Body, evaluates the performance of conformity assessment bodies which contribute to people’s safety and welfare, the quality of products, environmental protection and the increased competitiveness of Spanish products and services.
The NoBo and DeBo services under ISO17065:2012 and the EU Agency for Railways Scheme for CAB add to DNV’s product certification services in the railway sector and are designed to ensure that railway products comply with European applicable regulations and standards. In addition, the AsBo and ISA independent safety assessment services (conducted under the ISO17020:2012 standard) focus on identifying and mitigating risks associated with railway systems and operations.
A significant recognition of DNV’s expertise in product certification and safety assurance in the railway sector, this accreditation reinforces DNV’s commitment to implementing efficient and proactive safety measures, providing innovative product assurance and safety services, and ensuring a safe and reliable railway environment to all members of the rail supply chain.
Jorge Aldegunde, DNV’s Railway Global Technical Manager, said, “At DNV, we are dedicated to driving technical excellence and helping organizations in the rail sector achieve their goals of quality, safety, and performance. Through meticulous assessments of technical requirements, safety protocols, and products, DNV provides manufacturers and suppliers to the rail industry with dependable quality assurance.
“I would like to congratulate the entire DNV team for this significant achievement, and express appreciation to our clients and partners for their trust in our railway assurance, advisory and digital services. Together, we will move towards a safer and more reliable railway future.”
